Triphala in Ayurveda :
Triphala is a popular remedy in Ayurvedic medicine, and has been used for thousands of years, particularly in the digestive sphere.
Triphala is a blend of three berries: Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica) and Haritaki (Terminalia chebula).
Each of these berries has distinct therapeutic properties that act synergistically:
- Amalaki is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, renowned for its beneficial effects on the digestive system.
- Bibhitaki is known for its mild laxative effect, aiding digestion, maintaining intestinal motility and promoting elimination thanks to its powerful antioxidants.
- Haritaki helps to balance and maintain regularity of elimination while maintaining regular transit.
