Also known as Amla, the Amalaki is a tree renowned for its longevity. Its berries, used here, are considered the fruit of youth in India. Consumed for hundreds of years in the Indian tradition, it is used in many preparations, including the famous Chyawanprash or "Elixir of life", a sweet condiment consumed by millions of Indians.
