Centella asiatica in Ayurveda
Also known as Gotu kola, Centella asiatica is used in Ayurveda to stimulate intellectual alertness and for its virtues in case of stress or intense reflection (heavy workloads, decisions to be made, etc). It allows to keep one's faculties and to remain concentrated. Traditionally referred to as "brain food", Gotu kola is recommended in Ayurveda to calm people with a Pitta constitution.

Centella asiatica is an ayurvedic plant which multiplies active substances such as alkaloids, glucosides or saponins. Its action on the brain and cognitive functions would come from its richness in asiaticosides and madecassosides. Intellectual stimulant, in particular for logic and reasoning, Centella asiatica is associated with Brahmi in our memory complex. The Centella asiatica of Ayur-vana is an extract titrated at 20% in active substances to guarantee its effectiveness on the intellect.
