Amla in Ayurveda
More commonly known as Amla, the Amalaki tree, from its Sanskrit name, is a tree known for its longevity. Its berries are reputed to rejuvenate and tone the body and mind. Indians even say that Amla is to plants what gold is to minerals. Used for hundreds of years in Ayurvedic medicine,Amla is used in many preparations, including the famous Chyawanprash or "Elixir of life", a sweet condiment consumed by millions of Indians, or Triphala, an ancestral recipe that stimulates and regulates the intestinal transit.

Focus on the properties of Amla
Amla owes its virtues to its richness in tannins, which are polyphenols. Ayur-vana's Amla extract is titrated at 25 % tannins. Tannins are secondary metabolites of certain plants that serve to protect them from infestation by parasites, bacteria, viruses and fungi. Due to their chemical structure, tannins have an antioxidant action on plant and human tissues, thus fighting against the harmful effects of free radicals on the body.
